Fort Worth, TX Portrait Photographer: My Glamour Session with Bianca

There's an old saying that "Experience is the best teacher". And how true that is indeed. It wasn't until I experienced it for myself, thanks to Michelle Nolte of MJNolte Photography, how it was like to be on the other end of a glamour session...you know, actually being the model. I would always hear her talk of "Creative Live" and wondered what all the hype was about. So anyway, I have now officially converted to being one of the biggest fans of Creative Live and Sue Bryce who gives great portrait and glamour posing tips to aspiring portrait photographers. But of course, being the cheapskate that I am, I wait for the tutorials to go on YouTube instead of pay for the live webcast. Lol.

Anyway, little did I know that I could actually do this. I tried it before and really did not do too well. I honestly thought that it was my weakest area. Now, I am finding out that it may actualy be my strength. The posing tips really come in handy for my bridal sessions, not just the glamour portion. So, what a good way to test everything I've learned from "smiling with your eyes", to "relaxed mouthes" than to ask one of my brides to model for me. I've invited Bianca for a short one hour session at my home to see if I can actually direct and pose an inexperienced model and become successful with it. Well, guess what? Not only was I able to do that successfully,  but I also was successful with doing her hair and makeup! Anyway, if all goes well, I hope to establish this glamour line with a separate hair and makeup person. Call it beginner's luck, but I'm just not good with anyone else.

Well, here's Bianca Garcia, one of my blushing June brides showing off what she can do! Work it girl!

P.S. I am very proud of this session by the way, it was done at the corner of my living room, by the window with just natural light and a homemade reflector.

xoxo,
Emmarie
